Local Stakeholder Workshops
The Local Stakeholder Workshops connected Community & English with relevant organisations and community representatives in the four participating school regions. One workshop was organised through each partner secondary school, creating opportunities to present the project’s objectives, planned student activities and innovative approach to Community-connected English-language learning.
The workshops brought together representatives of educational institutions, local and regional authorities, civil-society organisations, organisations working in environmental and social fields, media representatives, community actors and other stakeholders interested in improving educational processes and responding to issues of community importance.
Participants were introduced to the Community-connected learning approach and to the project’s use of Virtual Reality, Open Educational Resources and other digital tools in English-language education. The workshops also presented how teachers and students would address environmental, social, cultural and other community-related challenges through school activities.
A central aim of the workshops was to encourage dialogue between schools and relevant local expertise. Stakeholders were invited to share their perspectives, identify important local challenges and propose ways in which educational institutions and community organisations could cooperate more closely in improving learning opportunities and addressing issues of local interest.
By involving stakeholders directly in the project’s implementation, the workshops supported wider awareness of Community & English and strengthened links between the participating schools and their communities. The discussions and recommendations also contributed to the project’s wider work on sustainable educational practice, strategic cooperation and future initiatives beyond the funded project period.
